This is still functioning although there is a much larger, new hospital opposite this that was funded in part by the UK Government in thanks for the treatment of the survivors by the Yugoslavian people. My meeting with Professors Metka Derganc and Igor Ravnik, two junior doctors (in 1966) who treated me and the other survivors. I asked a South African journalist, who was eavesdropping on our conversation, to take this, explaining that the two doctors “had saved my life in 1966!”.
